RSRG/LAMMA Coordinating Team
Dr. Samira Luns Hatum de Almeida is a postdoctoral researcher at RSRG/LAMMA – Agricultural Machinery and Mechanization Laboratory at FCAV/Unesp, where she works on projects focused on digital agriculture, with emphasis on remote sensing, artificial intelligence, and agricultural mechanization. She holds a degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Espírito Santo, a master's in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Viçosa, and a PhD in Agronomy (Crop Production) from São Paulo State University (Unesp), including a research internship at the University of Georgia (USA).
Her academic journey is marked by applied research in estimating biophysical parameters of crops using the SAFER model and technologies such as drone-mounted cameras, artificial neural networks, and geoprocessing. At RSRG, Dr. Samira contributes to studies on spatial variability, quality of mechanized operations, and yield prediction, with a special focus on underground crops such as peanut and potato, as well as crops like coffee, sugarcane, soybean, and corn.
With several scientific publications and active participation in technical and academic events, Dr. Samira strengthens the integration of science, technology, and sustainability in the agro-industrial sector.
