Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Remote Sensing applied to Agricultural Crops

  • Knowledge Area: Geosciences

  • FAPESP Process Number: 2021/06029-7
  • Project Title: High Resolution Remote Sensing for Digital Agriculture
  • Number of places: 1
  • Start: 2023-10-01
  • Principal Investigador: Antonio Maria Garcia Tommaselli
  • Unit/Institution: Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias – Unesp
  • Deadline for submissions: 2023-08-28
  • E-mail for proposal submission: rouverson.silva@unesp.br

The selected candidate will be responsible for validating platforms and sensors. They will perform preliminary tests, including sensor calibration, as well as study the spectral behavior of agricultural crops with the aim of creating artificial intelligence models for estimating biophysical parameters. To do so, they will use multi-resolution and multi-temporal images collected by different platforms and multiple sensors, including active and passive sensors, multi and hyperspectral sensors, onboard remotely piloted aerial vehicles, and mobile ground systems.

The selected candidate will carry out their activities in Jaboticabal - SP, Brazil. Experience in aerial and proximal Remote Sensing, radiometric calibration, geoprocessing, subterranean crop cultivation, as well as scientific production in the field, are requirements for the position.

Any questions should be forwarded via email to Prof. Dr. Rouverson Pereira da Silva (rouverson.silva@unesp.br), with the subject line: FAPESP 2021/06029-7 (Post-doc).

The position is open to Brazilians and foreigners. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the amount of R$ 9,047.40 per month, along with a Technical Reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual fellowship value to cover expenses directly related to research activities.
